Railroaders muster just 4 hits in 2-1 loss to Redhawks
CLEBURNE, Texas -- The Cleburne Railroaders dropped the first of three games against the Fargo-Moorhead Redhawks by a score of 2-1 Monday night.
Cleburne put its one and only run up in the bottom of the first inning, making tonight the only game in which it had managed to score first. Maikol Gonzalez led off the inning with a double into left field, and he was advanced to third after a Mitch Glasser groundout to second. Geraldo Valentin would then push Gonzalez home with a groundout to the shortstop.
Railroaders starter Santos Arias would cruise through the Redhawk lineup until the fifth inning, when, with one out, K.D. Kang’s infield single gave them their first base runner of the game. Jesus Posso then hit his first homerun of the season to make the score 2-1.
That would be the end of the scoring, as both teams would get solid relief from their bullpens. Tyler Thompson gave the Redhawks one inning, and Richie Tate gave them two. Casey Weathers earned the save. The Railroaders got 1.1 scoreless innings from Kyle Westwood and 2.2 scoreless innings from Onas Farfan.
The Railroaders continue the series against the Redhawks tomorrow at 11:05 a.m. tomorrow morning.
