SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- Mitch Glasser hit a go-ahead RBI double in the seventh inning, and the Cleburne Railroaders held on for a 5-3 win over the Sioux Falls Canaries at Sioux Falls Stadium on Saturday night.

Glasser’s double scored Oscar Mesa from first on a two-out hit-and-run, and Geraldo Valentin drove Glasser in with his second run-scoring hit of the night.

Cleburne starter Patrick Mincey gave up a season-high three runs on nine hits with just one walk and one strikeout in 5.2 innings, but Alberto Rodriguez threw 2.1 scoreless innings of relief and Winston Abreu notched his sixth save of the year with a clean ninth.

The Railroaders pegged Sioux Falls starter Joe Bircher for five runs on nine hits over 6.2 innings, led by Valentin’s three hits. Glasser finished 1-for-4 with the RBI double, and Blake Grant-Parks finished with his first multi-hit game of 2017. Maikol Gonzalez also knocked a pair of hits.

Cleburne had double-digit hits for the second consecutive game and stayed away from the double play just one night after hitting tying a season high with four.

The win gives Cleburne eight in its last nine games and the Railroaders have a chance to win their third consecutive series in the finale Sunday afternoon.

First pitch Sunday is set for 12:05 p.m. and can be heard live on the Railroader Radio Network with an 11:45 pregame show.

The Railroaders return home Monday, June 12 to open a four-game set with the Salina Stockade. Good seats are still available for the homestand, and tickets can be purchased online at or by visiting the box office located by the home plate gate at The Depot.
