CLEBURNE, Texas -- Axel Johnson finished 4-for-5 with his first home run of the year, but Cleburne surrendered two runs in the ninth and 11th innings in a 7-5 loss to the Sioux Falls Canaries at The Depot Sunday afternoon.

Johnson’s homer gave Cleburne a 4-3 lead in the sixth inning after the Railroaders trailed 3-0 into the bottom of the fifth.

But Jabari Henry hit a game-tying two-run homer off of closer Winston Abreu to tie the game in the ninth, and he then drove in two more runs with a double in the 11th, and the Canaries rolled to a weekend sweep of the Railroaders.

Johnson’s four-hit game was the first of his professional career, and Cleburne combined for 10 hits total. Maikol Gonzalez knocked a single, Shawn Zarraga had a pair of hits and Alex Polston drove in a run in the fifth innings.

The Canaries finished with 16 hits after finishing with 14 the night before.

Jorge Martinez gave up three runs on eight hits over six innings in the start, and Alberto Rodriguez threw two scoreless innings. Casey Upperman, who was tagged for his second loss in the three-game set, gave up two runs over 1.1 relief innings.

Now four games back of Wichita in the South Division, the Railroaders turn to three games at Texas starting Monday. First pitch from Airhog Stadium is set for 7:05, and the Railroader Pregame Show begins at 6:45.

The Railroaders return home to The Depot Monday, June 26 to open a three-game set with the Salina Stockade. Tickets are still available and can be purchased online at or by visiting the box office located near the main gate at The Depot.
