CLEBURNE, Texas -- Shawn Zarraga finished 2-for-4 with a pair of singles and an RBI, but the Wichita Wingnuts clinched the series with a 7-1 win over the Cleburne Railroaders at The Depot Saturday night.

Zarraga had two of Cleburne’s nine hits and the lone RBI, but Wichita knocked 15 hits after finishing with 18 the night before, and the Wingnuts set themselves up for a series sweep on Sunday.

Patrick Mincey gave up a season-high five runs on 10 hits over a season-low 3.2 innings, and Carlos Misell threw 3.1 scoreless innings with a walk and two strikeouts. Cortland Cox gave up two runs in one inning, and Casey Upperman worked a scoreless ninth inning with a strikeout.

K.C. Huth also finished with two hits and Axel Johnson reached twice -- once on an error and the other a single -- but the Railroaders failed to work a walk for the first time since June 16 and lost for the sixth time in seven games.

Alex Polston returned to the lineup for the first time since June 19 and singled in his first at-bat.

With Saturday’s loss, Cleburne now sits a season-high 10 games behind Wichita atop the South Division.

The series finale of the three-game set is scheduled for 6:05 p.m. Sunday evening. Good seats are still available and can be purchased online at or by visiting the box office located near the main gate at The Depot.
