CLEBURNE, Texas -- RHP Patrick Mincey has been named to the 2017 American Association All-Star team, the Can-Am League and American Association announced Wednesday.

The selection is Mincey’s first in the American Association, now pitching with his sixth club all-time.

Mincey -- converting from a reliever to a starter for 2017 -- is 5-2 with a 2.78 ERA over nine starts this season, throwing 58.1 innings and giving up 19 runs on 58 hits with six walks and 32 strikeouts.

Mincey also earned recognition from the league last week when he was named the American Association Pitcher of the Month for June. In June, Mincey was 3-1 with a 2.27 ERA and threw back-to-back complete games -- the first two of his professional career.

In a professional career that’s taken him to multiple leagues in the United States along with the Venezuelan Winter League, Mincey is 23-11 with a 3.39 ERA and 272 strikeouts over 321.1 career innings.

The 2017 Can-Am/American Association All-Star Game will take place in Ottawa, Ontario on July 25.
