CLEBURNE, Texas -- The Cleburne Railroaders want to congratulate former C Shawn Zarraga on his signing with the Los Angeles Dodgers organization.

Zarraga, who was set to rejoin the Railroaders after he was released last week, has now joined the team’s Double-A affiliate Tulsa Drillers.

The Melbourne, FL native appeared in 41 games as a catcher, designated hitter and first baseman with the Railroaders and hit .272 with three home runs and 17 RBI.

Zarraga signed with Cleburne in April after he was released from a minor-league deal with the Cincinnati Reds. He spent 2015-16 with Tulsa and Oklahoma City in the Dodgers organization after spending parts of seven seasons with the Milwaukee Brewers.

In his brief stint with the Railroaders, Zarraga hit the franchise’s first home run and pitched only his second inning of professional baseball against the Wichita Wingnuts on June 30.
