CLEBURNE, Texas -- The Cleburne Railroaders along with the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference are proud to announce The Depot at Cleburne Station as the venue for the 2018 SCAC Championship Tournament.
The four-team elimination tournament will run from May 4-6, 2018.
“The SCAC is excited to partner with the Railroaders organization to bring the 2018 conference baseball tournament to the city of Cleburne and the Depot at Cleburne Station,” said commissioner Dwayne Hanberry. “We are very fortunate to have access to this beautiful new facility, and I’m confident our student-athletes, coaches and fans will be treated to a first-class experience.”
The Depot previously hosted the baseball championship for the Heartland Conference in May 2017, and the SCAC tournament is the second collegiate venture for the new ballpark.
"The City of Cleburne and the Railroaders Organization could not be more honored to host the SCAC conference baseball tournament in 2018," Railroaders President/General Manager Robbie Fenyes told SCACsports.com. "Hosting this event aligns perfectly with the vision of the City to build this facility as a multi-purpose destination. As operators of the Depot Stadium, we strive to find great events for the community outside of Cleburne Railroaders Baseball and this tournament fits perfectly."
Last year, AirHogs Stadium in Grand Prairie, Texas hosted the SCAC tournament.
The Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference is an eight-team athletic division that competes at the NCAA Division III level. Its members are spread throughout Texas, Louisiana and Colorado.
