CLEBURNE, Texas -- Pichi Balet went 3-for-5 with three RBI, and the Cleburne Railroaders won a rain-shortened game, 14-5, over the Salina Stockade in seven innings Sunday night.
Cleburne’s 14 runs were the second-most this year, and all came in the first four innings. Balet scored a season-high three runs, and Axel Johnson reached four times with three walks.
K.C. Huth went 2-for-4 with 4 RBI, and Maikol Gonzalez went 3-for-5 with a two-run homer -- Cleburne’s first since July 28 -- in the fourth inning. Mitch Glasser also walked twice and scored three times, while Nick Van Stratten finished 2-for-3 with two runs.
Cleburne also tied a season-high with eight walks, and the Railroaders scored five times in the first, four in the second, three in the third and twice in the fourth.
Dylan Mouzakes gave up five runs on eight hits over 5.1 innings, and Will Mathis retired all five he faced with three strikeouts.
Salina took an early lead on Kewby Meyer’s third homer of the year, and Jesse Baker -- who now has a hit in six straight at-bats -- hit a three-run home run in the sixth.
Salina starter Jared Koenig gave up five runs on three hits and four walks over one inning, and Logan Gillaspie gave up seven runs over two innings.
Cleburne ended a two-game skid and split the four-game series, and the Railroaders will open a three-game set with the Sioux City Explorers Monday night.
First pitch is set for 7:06 p.m., and can be heard on the Railroader Radio Network with pregame starting 20 minutes prior.
