Cleburne Heads to Sioux City for the Weekend Trip

Cleburne, TX – The Railroaders dropped two out of three in their series against the Sioux Falls Canaries to begin the week. The squad lost on Tuesday 6-4, and 6-5 on Wednesday. The Roaders avoided the sweep on Thursday with a 13-5 win.

Steven Rivas had a massive series going 5 for 12 with two home runs, two doubles, and seven RBI. Kyle Martin had the night off on Tuesday, but came back strong going four for nine in the last two games with all of his hits for extra bases. He had a double, a triple, and two home runs, with five RBI in Thursday’s win.

Korry Howell had a great night on Thursday going three for five with a home run and a double, while driving in three. Catcher Andres Sosa also had a good series at the dish going four for ten.

On the pitching side, Mike Shawaryn tossed an eight inning complete game in the Wednesday loss. He struck out four and walked none. Kade Mechals pitched well again, earning his second win of the year, going five innings, and allowing one run.

The Railroaders are 12-7 on the season and still at the top of the East division, as they head to Sioux City to play the Explorers for the weekend cap.
