CLEBURNE, Texas – The Railroaders return to La Moderna Field after a six-game road trip to host the Gary SouthShore RailCats for a six-game homestand. Gary (29-46) sits six games behind Cleburne (35-40) for the final playoff spot in the East Division.

On paper, the Railroaders will be happy to return to friendly confines. Cleburne sports a 20-18 (.526) record at home this season, while the RailCats have struggled away from home with a 12-26 record (.318).

Both teams are in the midst of multi-game losing skids coming into Tuesday’s opener for the series. Last time out, Cleburne brought the tying run to the plate on Sunday against the Lake Country DockHounds after scoring three runs in the ninth inning.

Cole Foster drew a leadoff walk to begin the ninth before Cody Thomas homered for two runs – Thomas’ 13th of the season. Frankie Tostado followed suit with a solo shot of his own, his 14th homer and team-leading 60th RBI, to make it an 8-6 game.

Mason Minzey singled to keep the inning going, but ultimately the Railroaders came up just short in an 8-6 loss to the second-place team in the East Division.

Tuesday marks the beginning of the penultimate homestand for the 2026 regular season. Just 12 games remain for the regular season at La Moderna Field. The East Division playoff picture will have a much clearer look after what unfolds across the six games at La Moderna Field.
